Are you interested in biomedical engineering and neuroscience? What about electrochemistry, and applying electrochemical methods to medical or biophysical applications?or are you rather attracted to micro and nanofabricated electronic devices? Our group works on creating novel ways to diagnose and treat human diseases. We focus on neurological disorders, with some projects also in the field of cancer therapy.Overall, the fastest growing research area is the use of electrochemical reactions occuring at the surface of implantable electrode systems to achieve neuromodulation. This new idea of exploiting existing electrodes to modulate neuronal firing is something we call Orthogonal Neuromodulation, check out the project description here: https://old.starfos.tacr.cz/en/project/GX25-18184XAll of these topics and more are important new directions at the Bioelectronic Materials and Devices group at CEITEC VUT (https://www.ceitec.eu/bioelectronics-materials-and-devices/rg375) , where we are searching for new, fully-funded, postdocs to join our team. The group is funded by prestigious research grants from the European Research Council (ERC) and GAČR, within the prestigious EXPRO program. The group is highly interdisciplinary, so there is no single "right" background. The most important thing is your level of interest, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, and willingness to enter into a competitive research ecosystem.Contact me with CV in PDF format if interested to apply.
