Junior HSE Engineer

Job description: Important Location Requirement: The project is located in Ghuwaifat – Al Sila, Abu Dhabi, near the Saudi Arabian border. Candidates must be fully comfortable working at this remote project location and willing to work on-site as required. Freshers and candidates without the required relevant construction HSE experience will not be considered.

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified and experienced HSE Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in large-scale construction projects, ground improvement works, and major civil building construction projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in implementing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing high-risk construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in compliance with applicable UAE HSE regulations. Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), method statement reviews, site inspections, and safety audits. Ensure strict HSE compliance across building construction, civil works, piling, and ground improvement activities. Supervise and monitor high-risk activities Excavation, confined space entry, and work-at-height activities. Lifting operations, heavy equipment movement, and other critical construction activities. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE awareness training for workers and site personnel. Monitor compliance with approved method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response procedures. Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure effective implementation of HSE requirements across the project site. Qualifications and Experience Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Recognized HSE qualifications and certifications are required. Minimum 5 years of relevant HSE experience, including substantial experience in the UAE construction industry. Strong experience in main civil building construction, ground improvement, piling, and high-risk construction activities. Proven experience implementing ISO 45001 HSE management systems, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident investigations. Good knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, construction safety standards, and site compliance requirements. Excellent communication, reporting, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
