Poultry Farm Manager

Our client, a growing organisation in the agricultural and poultry sector, is seeking an experienced Farm Manager – Poultry to lead farm operations, optimise production performance, and drive operational efficiency.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on poultry professional with strong technical expertise in layer farm management, flock performance, biosecurity, and large-scale farm operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day farm operations, ensuring optimal productivity, operational efficiency, and high standards of quality.Manage the complete lifecycle of layer flocks, from pullet rearing through peak laying and extended production cycles, maximising egg production and laying persistence.Implement effective flock health, vaccination, biosecurity, disease prevention, and veterinary management programmes.Monitor poultry nutrition, feed consumption, feed conversion, water usage, environmental conditions, and housing management.Oversee egg collection, grading, handling, storage, hygiene, and quality standards.Lead, develop, and supervise farm personnel, ensuring effective workforce planning, training, and performance management.Manage farm budgets, operating costs, inventory, procurement, equipment maintenance, and resource utilisation.Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, animal welfare, environmental, health, and safety requirements.Monitor production data, mortality rates, flock performance, and operational KPIs to identify improvements and enhance profitability.Drive continuous improvement, sustainable farming practices, and long-term operational development.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Farm Management, Agribusiness, or a related discipline.Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in farm management or agricultural operations, with substantial hands-on experience in poultry farming and specialised Layer Farm operations.Strong technical knowledge of layer flock management, egg production, poultry nutrition, biosecurity, disease prevention, and veterinary coordination.Proven experience in farm operations planning, workforce leadership, budgeting, cost control, and production performance management.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive operational improvements and achieve production targets.
