Prequalification Engineer - T&D

CHINT has been listed among the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises for more than 20 consecutive years.Job Summary: The Prequalification(PQ) Engineer will manage end-to-end prequalification and product approval activities for CHINT’s T&D equipment, from requirements assessment and technical compliance to factory/HQ coordination, documentation, submission, and final approval, under the supervision of the Senior Department Manager.Duties & Responsibilities / What You Will Do:Plan and manage each pre-qualification as a project, with a plan, milestones, risks, and regular status reporting.Review utility/customer PQ requirements and prepare requirement matrices, gap analyses, and action plans, and verify technical submissions against applicable utility specifications, IEC standards and customer requirements before submission.Coordinate with CHINT HQ/factories for preparation, review and closure of technical documents and customer comments, including technical review of T&D equipment documentation for products such as Power Transformers, GIS/HGIS, CT, PT/VT, CVT, Circuit Breakers, Reactors, etc., typically covering 30/33/36/132/230/380 kV and above as applicable.Coordinate factory audits, FAT, and type tests required for approvals, and follow up on corrective actions.Manage PQ portals, document submissions, revisions, approvals, and correspondence, and organize and maintain PQ document libraries, trackers, certificates, test reports and approval records with full traceability, including validity and renewal dates.Handle utility/customer technical meetings, audits, and clarification sessions when required.Prepare management presentations, dashboards, progress reports, and technical summaries.Maintain lessons learned and reusable PQ databases to improve future approval cycles.Align the approval pipeline with Sales priorities and support the PQ-cost to sales-forecast (ROI) assessment.Support market/product/entity studies and approval-priority assessments.Required Qualifications / This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Below:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Power)5–7 years of relevant experience.Previous direct involvement in utility/end-user prequalification, vendor qualification, or product approval processes.Practical exposure to the manufacturing/testing side of T&D equipment, including factory audits, FATs, and type tests.Good understanding of IEC standards, technical specifications, drawings, test reports, and manufacturing documentation.Strong project management, data/document management, analytical and presentation skills.Strong English communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience
