Quality Assurance Quality Control Engineer

Job Purpose:To implement, monitor and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures for infrastructure projects, ensuring that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, quality standards and applicable authority requirements.The candidate should have hands-on QA/QC experience in infrastructure and civil construction projects, particularly roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage and associated infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor project specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure infrastructure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.Supervise and inspect civil and infrastructure works: Road construction, Earthworks, excavation, backfilling and compaction, Stormwater drainage and sewerage networks, Water supply networks and utility installations, and Underground utilities. Review and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements and project quality documentation.Coordinate with site engineers, construction teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients for inspection requests and quality approvals.Prepare, review and submit Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), Work Inspection Requests (WIRs/IRs) and other quality-related documents.Ensure that construction materials comply with approved specifications and coordinate material testing with approved laboratories.Monitor field and laboratory tests, including soil compaction, field density, concrete, asphalt and aggregate testing.Identify quality issues and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs) and corrective action requests where required.Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure of NCRs.Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, material approvals and project quality documentation.Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and project quality procedures.Coordinate with consultants and relevant authorities during inspections, testing and approval processes.Monitor subcontractor quality performance and ensure compliance with approved quality standards.Prepare regular quality reports and provide updates to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.Minimum 5–8 years of experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.Strong hands-on experience in infrastructure and civil construction projects.Must have worked with infrastructure contractors, main contractors or civil construction companies.Experience in roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage, stormwater and water supply networks is highly preferred.UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience is mandatory.Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, method statements and inspection requirements.
