Retail Solutions Developer

Job PurposeTo design, develop, customize, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce and Retail solutions that support and enhance the company's retail operations. The role focuses on developing POS extensions, Commerce Runtime (CRT) components, and integrating retail systems with ERP platforms and third-party applications to improve operational efficiency, ensure system reliability, and deliver a seamless retail experience.Key Responsibilities1. Development & CustomizationDesign, develop, and customize extensions for Modern POS (MPOS), Cloud POS (CPOS), and Store Commerce.Develop and enhance retail solutions to meet business and operational requirements.Customize existing applications and implement new functionalities to improve retail operations.2. Commerce Runtime (CRT) DevelopmentDevelop business logic, custom APIs, and data entities within Commerce Runtime (CRT) and Retail Server.Build and maintain extensions using Retail SDK and related development frameworks.Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of retail applications.3. System IntegrationIntegrate Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations with third-party applications and enterprise systems.Develop integrations with payment gateways, barcode scanners, fiscal printers, and other retail hardware.Ensure seamless data exchange and synchronization between retail systems and ERP platforms.4. Deployment & DevOpsManage code builds, deployments, and release processes using Azure DevOps and Lifecycle Services (LCS).Maintain and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment environments.Ensure successful deployment and configuration of retail solutions across environments.5. Technical Support & TroubleshootingTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to POS and retail systems.Perform debugging, unit testing, and performance optimization.Provide Level 3 technical support for retail operations.Identify system issues and implement effective technical solutions.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.5–7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail or Dynamics 365 Commerce/Retail development.Role Level: Mid-to-Senior LevelTechnical SkillsStrong proficiency in .NET Framework and .NET Core.Advanced programming skills in C#, X++, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 Commerce architecture, including:Commerce Runtime (CRT).Retail Server.Hardware Station.Extensive experience developing and consuming ASP.NET Web APIs, RESTful services, and WCF.Hands-on experience with Retail SDK, Hardware Station, and CRT extensions.Cloud & Database TechnologiesExperience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Service Bus.Practical experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, database design, complex stored procedures, and performance tuning.Professional SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Good communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.Development MethodologiesExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best coding practices.
