Location: Barking & Dagenham, East LondonContract: Long-TermStart: ASAP StartPay: £120 - £130 per dayAre you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a background in Science or practical classroom support?EdEx is recruiting for a Science Technician at a specialist SEMH school in East London, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.This position would suit a confident, resilient and adaptable individual who combines Science knowledge with experience supporting pupils in challenging classroom environments.The Role:Prepare Science equipment and resources for practical lessons.Support teachers with the delivery of engaging Science activities.Help maintain a safe, structured learning environment.Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.Support pupils with complex behavioural and emotional needs.Maintain laboratory resources and follow health and safety procedures.The Ideal Candidate:Previous HLTA-level classroom experience in a challenging school environment.Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or significant behavioural needs.Confidence managing challenging classroom situations.Good Science subject knowledge and practical ability.Calm, resilient and professional approach.Strong communication and organisational skills.Previous experience as a Science Technician would be beneficial, but strong HLTA-level experience in a challenging setting is particularly important.Apply today through EdEx with your CV for further information.All applicants will be subject to relevant safeguarding and Enhanced DBS checks.INDTA
