Senior Azure Migration Engineer - Part Time (Cloud Services to Modern Azure)

Our work runs with senior oversight, daily updates in the client’s own tools, and a clear deliverable for every task.The roleWe’re looking for a senior engineer - PART TIME to lead the migration of legacy applications off Azure Cloud Services (extended support) ahead of Microsoft’s retirement deadline. You’ll assess existing web and worker roles, choose the right modern Azure target for each workload, and carry the migration through to a low-downtime cutover.What you’ll doInventory existing Cloud Services deployments and map their dependenciesRecommend and implement targets such as App Service, Azure Functions, Container Apps, AKS or VM Scale SetsRe-host and refactor .NET Framework, Classic ASP and Visual Basic componentsReplace Cloud Services dependencies (RoleEnvironment APIs, startup tasks, local storage, role-based configuration)Rebuild CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOpsPlan and run cutovers with rollback plans and minimal downtimeCommunicate progress daily and document decisions clearlyWhat you bring5+ years of hands-on Azure experienceProven experience migrating apps off Azure Cloud Services (classic or extended support)Strong .NET Framework background, plus comfort with Classic ASP and VBAzure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code (Bicep, ARM or Terraform)Solid grasp of Azure networking and security: VNets, certificates, Key Vault, managed identityClear written English and a habit of proactive communicationNice to haveWindows containers and IIS-on-Azure hostingExperience with government, public-sector or other sensitive data (e.g., CJIS-style controls)Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400)How to applySend your CV and a short note describing an Azure migration you led: what you moved, where to, and how you handled cutover.
