This role is not simply about delivering features quickly.We are looking for a true software engineer who understands why systems should be designed a certain way, not just how to make them work. You should be comfortable working with an existing production codebase, identifying architectural and code-quality issues, refactoring legacy systems, and designing cleaner, more maintainable solutions.The ideal candidate can independently analyze complex technical problems, make sound engineering decisions, and write high-quality production code.AI-assisted development tools are welcome as productivity enhancers, but strong engineering fundamentals are essential. You should be fully capable of writing, reviewing, debugging, refactoring, and designing software independently without relying entirely on AI-generated code.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable applications using PHP and Laravel.Build modern frontend experiences using Vue.js and React.js.Design clean, maintainable, and extensible application architecture.Review and refactor existing production code to improve quality, reliability, performance, and maintainability.Identify technical debt and propose practical improvements without unnecessarily rebuilding working systems.Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations with third-party services.Design reusable services, modules, components, and APIs.Optimize database queries, backend processes, and application performance.Troubleshoot complex production issues and identify their root causes.Apply SOLID principles, clean-code practices, design patterns, and separation of concerns appropriately.Write code that is readable, testable, reusable, and easy for other engineers to maintain.Conduct meaningful code reviews and help maintain high engineering standards across the team.Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business requirements into technically sound solutions.Improve development workflows, testing practices, deployment processes, and engineering tooling.Take full ownership of features from technical design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.Required QualificationsStrong professional experience with PHP and Laravel.Deep understanding of Laravel architecture, including:ServicesQueues and jobsEventsCachingAuthentication and authorizationAPI developmentStrong hands-on experience with Vue.js.Experience building production applications with React.js.Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.Excellent understanding of SOLID principles and clean architecture.Ability to confidently work with existing and legacy codebases.Proven experience refactoring complex code without disrupting existing functionality.Strong knowledge of relational databases and database design, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.Good understanding of application security, scalability, and performance optimization.Experience with Git and professional code-review workflows.Ability to make technical decisions independently and clearly explain the reasoning behind them.Nice to HaveExperience with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and server-side push-notification architecture.Experience with other Firebase services.Experience with Redis, queues, workers, and asynchronous processing.Experience with Docker and containerized applications.Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working on systems that support multiple products or business units.Experience modernizing or restructuring large existing applications.Experience with automated testing and test-driven development.What We ValueAt Tiara Group, we care deeply about engineering quality.We are looking for someone who does not stop at making a feature work, but also considers whether the implementation is:CleanScalableExtensibleMaintainableTestableSecureEasy for other engineers to understandYou should be the kind of engineer who can look at an existing implementation and confidently determine:What should stay.What should change.What should be refactored.And how to improve it without introducing unnecessary complexity.We value engineers who understand fundamentals, challenge poor technical decisions constructively, take ownership of their work, and consistently leave the codebase better than they found it.If you enjoy solving difficult engineering problems, improving existing systems, and building high-quality products rather than simply completing tickets, we would love to hear from you.
