WinMatch is supporting an established industrial organisation in the search for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen its engineering capabilities in Dubai, UAE.We work closely with organisations and professionals to create meaningful career opportunities, providing a personalised approach and maintaining discretion throughout the recruitment process.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an industrial engineering and manufacturing environment specialising in power generation equipment and customised generator solutions.Based in Dubai, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of mechanical design activities, contribute to product development and work closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to deliver reliable, efficient and cost-effective solutions.You will play a key role in bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, supporting technical project delivery while guiding junior team members and driving continuous improvement across the engineering process.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will oversee mechanical design and engineering activities from initial technical requirements through detailed design, manufacturing support and final delivery.Your key responsibilities will include:Mechanical design: Develop and optimise mechanical designs for diesel generator sets, customised power packages, enclosures, baseframes, cooling systems, exhaust assemblies and associated components.Technical engineering: Prepare and validate engineering drawings, 3D models, fabrication documentation and mechanical calculations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and applicable standards.Manufacturing integration: Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and aligned with workshop capabilities.CAD/CAM and CNC: Prepare and validate manufacturing files, support CNC programming, and optimise sheet-metal processing and nesting activities to improve production efficiency and material utilisation.Product optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve existing designs, reduce material waste, optimise manufacturing costs and enhance product performance.Generator package engineering: Ensure the appropriate integration of engines, exhaust systems, fuel systems, ventilation, acoustic enclosures and other mechanical interfaces.Exhaust and silencer design: Develop and optimise exhaust systems and silencers, taking into account acoustic performance, exhaust flow, backpressure and manufacturing requirements.Project delivery: Coordinate engineering deliverables, resolve technical issues and collaborate with production, procurement, quality and other relevant stakeholders to meet project requirements.Quality and validation: Support design reviews, inspections, testing activities and the resolution of manufacturing issues, ensuring technical quality and consistency.Team leadership: Guide junior designers, review technical outputs and contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices.Continuous improvement: Promote design standardisation, efficient manufacturing processes and practical engineering solutions that support long-term operational performance.Your ProfileWe are looking for a technically strong and hands-on engineering professional with substantial experience in mechanical design, generator manufacturing and industrial production.You will ideally bring:A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
