Senior Planning Engineer

Job PurposeLead project planning and scheduling activities, monitor progress against approved schedules, analyze delays and deviations, and develop recovery plans to support the timely delivery of construction and real estate development projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain project baseline schedules, including activities, resources, and cost considerations.Review and assess project schedules submitted by contractors and consultants.Monitor actual project progress against approved schedules and identify deviations.Analyze critical paths, delays, and potential schedule risks, and recommend appropriate recovery plans.Assess the schedule impact of variation orders and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.Prepare progress reports, progress curves, dashboards, and periodic schedule updates.Develop short-term look-ahead schedules and coordinate material and equipment delivery requirements.Provide planning guidance and support to project teams and planning engineers.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction or real estate development sector.Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.Strong knowledge of critical path analysis, delay analysis, and schedule recovery techniques.Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.Proficiency in Arabic and English.PMI-SP or PMP certification is preferred.Key CompetenciesProject planning and scheduling.Critical path and delay analysis.Schedule recovery and risk assessment.Progress reporting and performance monitoring.Coordination with contractors, consultants, and project teams.Analytical thinking and technical leadership.
