Senior Systems Analyst

Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support the planning and delivery of ICT solutions within an Australian Government agency. You will translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with agency architecture, and lead a team through the design, implementation and ongoing support of those solutions. The work covers feasibility assessment, requirements definition and management, systems design and specialist advice to business areas.Key ResponsibilitiesLead investigative work for feasibility assessments and prepare business cases, including cost/benefit, impact and risk analysisPlan and drive scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation for large, complex initiativesEstablish requirements baselines and manage changes to requirementsDesign large or complex systems, undertaking impact analysis on design options and trade-offsIdentify gaps in existing functionality and functional interdependenciesOversee system configuration and the development and implementation of ICT solutionsLead and manage staff, including performance, priorities, workflow and capability development through coaching and mentoringMonitor work output and quality against performance standards and report on outcomes and KPIsContribute to costing, workforce planning and the management of budgets, contracts and procurement within the areaPrepare and review technical and corporate documentationWork with internal and external stakeholders, other agencies and vendors to deliver project outcomesRequired ExperienceSenior systems analysis experience at or equivalent to EL1 level (SFIA Level 5)Leading feasibility assessments and preparing business cases with options analysisRequirements definition and management on large, complex initiatives, including negotiating competing priorities across diverse stakeholdersDesigning large or complex systems that balance functional and non-functional requirementsProviding expert advice in a specialist area and overseeing advice provided by othersLeading and developing a team, including setting priorities and managing workflowWriting clear technical and corporate documentationExperience in government or a similarly large organisationDesirable ExperienceConsultancy experience, including facilitating stakeholder groups and recommending optionsAdvising on and improving the use of delivery methods and toolsSpecifying and designing large or complex software applications and componentsUsability and accessibility evaluation of designs and prototypesWorking within government privacy, security and information management requirementsSecurity Clearance RequirementsMust be an Australian CitizenMust be able to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security ClearanceCurrent AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (or higher) preferredWorking ArrangementsOnsite initially, then hybridBrisbane, Canberra or MelbourneWhy ProfectusProfectus partners with Australian Government agencies to deliver trusted ICT capability across complex delivery programs.
