Location: Chicago, ILTravel: Approximately 30% (Domestic & International)Industry: Retail Technology | Digital Signage | AV Integration | LED DisplaysThe OpportunityWe're partnering with an established, globally recognised retail display and technology business to appoint a Senior Technical Project Manager.This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-profile technology programs for some of the world's leading retail brands, with an initial focus on large-scale LED video wall and digital display installations.We're looking for someone who brings together strong technical knowledge, excellent project management capabilities and the confidence to lead complex programs from initial concept through to global deployment.This isn't a traditional Project Manager position.

You'll need to genuinely understand the technology, challenge technical solutions and be comfortable getting hands-on when required.What You'll Be DoingLead complex AV, LED display and retail technology programs from technical scoping and development through installation and deployment.Own project schedules, budgets, resources, milestones and overall delivery performance.Work closely with engineering, software, design, fabrication and manufacturing teams to develop integrated technology solutions.Oversee hardware and software integration, technical specifications, bills of materials (BOMs) and installation requirements.Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, managing expectations and communicating with senior stakeholders.Collaborate with international manufacturing and technology partners, including teams in China.Support prototyping, testing, technical troubleshooting and continuous improvement across technology programs.Drive consistency across technical documentation, quality standards and global installations.What We're Looking For5+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, AV Systems Integration, Digital Signage, Retail Technology or a closely related environment.Strong understanding of AV hardware, software integration, networking and display technologies.Experience managing complex technical projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors and installation teams.Exposure to LED video walls, digital signage or large-format display technology would be particularly valuable.Ability to understand technical drawings, wiring schematics, equipment specifications and BOMs.Strong client-facing communication skills, with the confidence to engage technical teams and senior executives.A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.Experience coordinating international suppliers, manufacturing or global deployments would be advantageous.Why Consider This Opportunity?Work on high-profile retail technology programs for a major global brand.Take ownership of technically complex projects with genuine autonomy and influence.Collaborate with experienced engineering, design and manufacturing teams internationally.Play a key role in developing and delivering innovative technology solutions within physical retail environments.Join an established business operating at the intersection of retail design, technology and manufacturing.Interested?If you're an experienced Technical Project Manager, AV Integration specialist or technically minded project leader looking for an opportunity to work on complex, high-visibility retail technology programs, we'd welcome a conversation.
