Location: ManchesterWorking: HybridSalary: £130-140k + bonus & benefits (total compensation up to circa £200k)The RoleJoining a leading global financial services organisation within a growing technology function, working on strategic architecture initiatives across a key area of the business.You'll shape technical direction and architecture across complex technology environments, spanning cloud, data, application and integration architecture.This is a senior, strategically focused role with significant scope to influence technology decisions, drive architectural improvements and work closely with engineering, product and business leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and develop architecture strategies, technical roadmaps and solution designs across a portfolio of productsLead architectural decisions across cloud-based applications, distributed systems and integration platformsDesign scalable, resilient solutions using modern technologies and architectural patternsWork closely with product owners, engineering teams and senior stakeholders to align technology with business objectivesEvaluate technology options, assess technical risks and contribute to build-versus-buy decisionsProvide architectural guidance across complex programmes and support engineering teams through deliveryEnsure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, governance and security requirementsIdentify opportunities to modernise technology platforms and improve architectural consistencyKey RequirementsProven experience in a Senior Solution Architect, Product Architect or similar architecture roleStrong knowledge of AWS and modern cloud-based architectureExperience across event-driven architecture, microservices, APIs and enterprise integrationGood understanding of distributed systems, application architecture and data integrationUnderstanding of data architecture and AI/ML technologies, including how modern architecture can support AI adoption and emerging use cases.Experience defining technical strategies, architecture roadmaps and solution designsAbility to influence architectural decisions across multiple engineering and product teamsExperience within Financial Services highly desirable, but not essentialStrong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skillsComfortable operating at a strategic level while maintaining sufficient technical depth to challenge and guide engineering teamsNo sponsorship available.Get in touch for more details - ncarolan@mcgregor-boyall.com
