Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleUNIMAC is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Technical Services to lead and oversee its Technical Services function across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and implementing company-wide technical standards, strengthening engineering coordination, leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital delivery strategies, and ensuring consistent technical performance across all projects.This is a senior leadership role requiring extensive experience in engineering management, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM implementation, and technical governance within the construction sector, preferably in Saudi Arabia.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Governance: Establish, implement, and maintain company-wide technical standards, engineering procedures, BIM execution requirements, shop drawing workflows, RFI management protocols, and survey and as-built documentation standards.Engineering Coordination: Provide functional leadership and technical guidance to Engineering Managers across projects, ensuring effective multidisciplinary coordination and compliance with approved procedures.Portfolio Oversight: Monitor technical delivery performance across active projects, conduct technical reviews and BIM audits, and proactively address engineering coordination issues that may affect project quality, cost, or schedule.BIM & Digital Delivery: Develop and implement the company's BIM strategy, digital delivery standards, model management procedures, BIM execution plans, and reusable templates to improve consistency and efficiency.Technical Problem-Solving: Act as the senior escalation point for complex design conflicts, coordination challenges, BIM compliance issues, and RFI backlogs.Tendering & Preconstruction Support: Provide technical input during tendering, review BIM and engineering requirements, and contribute to technical methodologies and delivery strategies for prospective projects.Performance Management: Establish appropriate technical performance indicators and provide regular reports to the Chief Operations Officer on portfolio performance, risks, compliance, and improvement initiatives.Resource & Capability Development: Optimize the deployment of engineering and BIM resources across projects and strengthen organizational technical capabilities through continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with project teams, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to promote effective technical coordination and ensure alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior engineering management, technical leadership, or BIM and digital delivery management.Demonstrated experience managing engineering and technical services across multiple construction projects.Strong background in heavy civil infrastructure and building construction, with extensive multidisciplinary design coordination experience.Minimum of 8 years of experience in Saudi Arabia, with sound knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, local regulatory requirements, and authority approval processes.Active registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers, as applicable to the candidate's engineering discipline and professional status.Experience implementing BIM standards, preferably aligned with ISO 19650, and developing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).Strong knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Common Data Environments (CDEs), shop drawing production, RFI management, surveying, and as-built documentation.Proven ability to establish technical standards, manage complex engineering interfaces, and lead teams across multiple projects.Key CompetenciesStrategic leadership and technical governanceMultidisciplinary engineering coordinationBIM strategy and digital construction deliveryTechnical risk management and problem-solvingStakeholder engagement and communicationResource planning and performance managementProcess improvement and organizational capability developmentLanguage RequirementsFluent English is required.Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
