Accountant

Change Accountancy and Finance are supporting one of Scotland leading firms as they look to hire a recently qualified accountant to their team in Edinburgh. An exciting role, the position will support a group of business entities in the end to end accounting and analysis of key trends and movements.The client is experiencing growth and as a newly created role in the team, the position will be key in providing accounting support to the wider department and business. Applicants will be recently qualified and be confident in both accounts preparation and have a solid grasp of balance sheet accounting, which they can draw upon to learn the role quickly.Key duties of the role will include;Producing monthly management accounts with supporting commentaryBalance sheet analysis to form insight and aid commercial decision makingGeneral ledger postings and review, validating entries and movementsTracking spend versus budgetAssisting in year end accounting for relevant entitiesResponsible for relevant with statutory returnsWider process improvement and ad hoc project work as needed by the businessThe role is a great opportunity for someone working in practice to make their first move into a dynamic and progressive business, with scope for continued growth and development.
