Field Application Engineer (FAE) – Full-Time

Location: Vancouver, BC – Hybrid (Office, Remote & Client Sites)Employment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: $90-100KTravel: 10–30% within Canada and internationallyAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join a growing technology team in Vancouver.This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role where you will work closely with customers, sales teams, and engineers to support product demonstrations, technical integrations, deployments, and troubleshooting.The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and helping businesses successfully implement new technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the main technical contact between customers and internal engineering teams.Support pre-sales activities, including technical demonstrations, presentations, and product evaluations.Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.Assist customers with product onboarding, integration, configuration, and deployment.Troubleshoot technical issues and provide hands-on support.Deliver technical training, documentation, and workshops to customers.Gather customer feedback and share recommendations with engineering and product teams.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Field Application Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Support Engineer.Strong technical knowledge in one or more of the following:Embedded systems and firmware developmentCloud or edge computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes)Networking and IoT device deploymentAI/ML application integrationExperience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, or Bash.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.Comfortable presenting technical solutions and explaining complex concepts to customers.Willingness to travel approximately 10–30% as required.Nice to HaveExperience with Hybrid Edge Cloud architecture or Device-First AI technologies.Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, REST APIs, or Modbus.Experience working in a startup or fast-growing technology company.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent customer-facing skills.You should be comfortable working directly with customers, understanding their technical challenges, demonstrating solutions, and supporting successful implementations.This role is ideal for a Field Application Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or technically strong customer-facing engineer who enjoys both hands-on engineering and client interaction.
