Sharkhood Tech values innovation, practical impact, and continuous learning in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Backend Developer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, focused on Node.js, NestJS, and ExpressJS. The Backend Developer will design, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, integrating third-party services, optimizing data models and queries, and writing clean, testable code following best practices. The role involves collaborating with front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver secure, high-quality releases, as well as monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues. The Backend Developer will also participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve development processes and tooling.Qualifications Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with hands-on experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js, NestJS, and/or ExpressJS.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns, with the ability to apply them to modular, maintainable backend architectures.Programming proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with related tooling (package managers, build tools, testing frameworks).Basic exposure to Front-End Development concepts to effectively collaborate with client-side teams and design clear API contracts.Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), caching mechanisms, and message queues; knowledge of performance optimization and scalability strategies.Understanding of security best practices for backend services, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.Ability to work on-site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate technical ideas clearly.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
