Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (KSA)Industry: Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC)Job OverviewAn established Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) consultancy is seeking an experienced BIM Manager with a strong specialist background in Structural Steel to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of industry experience, with extensive expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural steel design coordination, detailing, fabrication, and construction delivery.

Demonstrable experience managing BIM delivery on large-scale, complex building projects.This role will lead BIM implementation and coordination across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring models, drawings, and technical information meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.The ideal candidate will combine advanced technical knowledge of structural steel with proven BIM leadership, team management, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead BIM strategy, implementation, and delivery across structural steel and multidisciplinary AEC projects.Manage the development, coordination, and quality assurance of BIM models for structural steel structures, connections, fabrication, and installation.Oversee the integration of structural steel models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, identifying and resolving clashes and design conflicts.Establish and maintain BIM execution plans (BEPs), modelling standards, workflows, naming conventions, and information management procedures.Coordinate with structural engineers, steel detailers, fabricators, contractors, and project management teams throughout the design and construction phases.Review structural steel shop drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, and model outputs to ensure technical accuracy and constructability.Manage clash detection, model reviews, and coordination meetings, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.Implement BIM quality control procedures and ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards.Oversee the use of Common Data Environments (CDEs) and ensure accurate management, sharing, and revision control of project information.Lead, mentor, and develop BIM coordinators, modellers, and technical teams.Support project planning, resource allocation, progress monitoring, and BIM-related technical problem-solving.Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure effective BIM coordination and information delivery.Support continuous improvement by introducing efficient BIM workflows, automation, and digital construction technologies.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.Minimum 15 years of professional experience within the AEC industry, with substantial responsibility for BIM management and coordination.Strong specialist experience in structural steel structures, including modelling, detailing, fabrication, connection coordination, and construction installation.Demonstrable experience managing BIM delivery on large-scale, complex building projects.Extensive knowledge of structural steel systems, constructability, steel fabrication processes, and shop drawing coordination.Proven experience leading BIM teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project stakeholders.Experience working with international engineering standards and project-specific BIM requirements.Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region is advantageous.Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of relevant BIM and structural steel software, including:Tekla Structures – structural steel modelling, detailing, fabrication, and shop drawings.Autodesk Revit – multidisciplinary BIM coordination and model integration.Navisworks Manage – clash detection, model coordination, and construction sequencing.Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 or equivalent Common Data Environment platforms.AutoCAD and related structural detailing and coordination tools.Experience with steel connection design and analysis software, such as IDEA StatiCa or equivalent tools, would be advantageous.Key CompetenciesStrong technical leadership and BIM management capabilities.Excellent understanding of structural steel engineering, detailing, fabrication, and constructability.Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.High attention to detail and commitment to model accuracy and quality assurance.Ability to manage multiple project priorities, deadlines, and technical teams.Proactive approach to improving digital delivery standards and BIM efficiency.The OpportunityThis is an opportunity for a highly experienced BIM professional to take a leading role within an established AEC consultancy in Riyadh.
