Chief Risk OfficerCTB1 is partnering with a profitable, venture-backed fintech transforming access to financial services for underserved consumers and small businesses across emerging markets.Backed by leading global investors, the company has scaled to 2M+ customers, 25K+ businesses, and $100M+ in annual revenue. Its growing financial services platform spans consumer lending, SME financing, payments, and banking.As the business expands into unsecured lending, it's seeking a Chief Risk Officer to build and scale its credit risk infrastructure, leveraging proprietary transaction data to serve customers with limited or no traditional credit history.The OpportunityThis is a hands-on, strategic leadership role for someone who has successfully built and scaled credit products in emerging markets or low-data environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop credit risk strategies, underwriting policies, and decisioning frameworks across multiple products and markets.Build and scale unsecured lending products using alternative data, credit scoring, and risk-based pricing.Own portfolio performance, risk analytics, collections, and regulatory risk management.Build and lead credit risk, data science, fraud, and collections teams.Partner with executive leadership to balance credit performance, profitability, and growth.Ideal Candidate Profile10+ years of credit risk experience, ideally within fintech, digital lending, or neobanking.Proven experience building and scaling unsecured credit products in emerging markets or low-data environments.Deep expertise in alternative-data underwriting, credit decisioning, and portfolio management.Strong technical foundation combined with commercial judgment and an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach.Experience building teams and risk infrastructure in high-growth environments.Experience operating within regulated financial institutions preferred.
