Consultant ICU

Role Description The Consultant ICU role is a full-time, on-site position located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Consultant ICU will provide advanced clinical care to critically ill patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions in the intensive care unit. Daily responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary rounds, prescribing and monitoring treatments, supervising procedures, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based critical care protocols. The role involves close collaboration with nursing teams and allied health professionals, communication with patients’ families about care plans, and participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. The Consultant ICU may also contribute to training and mentoring junior medical staff and support the development of ICU care standards within the facility.QualificationsStrong foundation in Medicine with specialist training and experience in Critical Care Medicine.Competence in managing Home Care and Elder Care needs related to post-ICU and continuity of care.Ability to provide Training, mentoring, and clinical education to junior doctors and ICU staff.Relevant medical degree (e.g., MD or equivalent) with recognized specialization in intensive care or anesthesiology/medicine with ICU focus.Current professional license or eligibility for licensing in UAE, and compliance with local regulatory requirements.Proven experience working in an ICU setting, with strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills.Excellent communication skills, teamwork capabilities, and commitment to safe, patient-centered care.Willingness to participate in continuous professional development, clinical governance, and quality improvement activities.
