Delivery Head - Payments

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end delivery across multiple banking and financial services accounts, including implementations, change requests, upgrades, and managed services.Establish delivery governance through project reviews, risk tracking, release planning, and executive steering committees.Lead project recovery, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions for escalations and troubled engagements.Ensure every account has clear delivery ownership and technical leadership, with smooth transitions from implementation to ongoing operations.Build technical competencies through skill frameworks, certifications, reusable accelerators, and delivery playbooks.Manage resource planning, team capacity, utilisation, and staffing across accounts.Hire, mentor, and develop delivery managers and technical leads while building succession plans.Own estimation and scoping for change requests and new engagements in collaboration with Sales.Participate in account business reviews and identify opportunities for service expansion.Required Skills & Experience15+ years of experience in software delivery, including at least 5 years leading multi-account delivery for banks or financial institutions.Hands-on delivery experience with payments, cash management, or corporate banking platforms, preferably product-led implementations.Experience leading teams of 15+ professionals, including delivery managers and technical leads.Proven ability to recover troubled projects and manage executive-level escalations with banking stakeholders.Strong expertise in estimation, project scoping, Statements of Work (SOWs), and change request commercials.Excellent stakeholder management, delivery governance, and team leadership skills.Good to HaveUnderstanding of Indian banking and payments regulations, including relevant RBI guidelines.Experience building technical practices, competency frameworks, reusable accelerators, and hiring pipelines.Experience delivering technology solutions for international banks or insurance companies.Ideal CandidateA delivery leader who remains calm under pressure, communicates risks transparently, develops strong delivery leaders, and collaborates effectively with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver reliable outcomes for banking clients.
