Quantum / Delay / Technical Expert WitnessThe OpportunityAn established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking experienced Quantum | Delay | Technical Expert Witness professionals to join its growing dispute resolution team. Candidates with significant experience supporting lead experts, preparing expert reports and managing complex assignments may also be considered, even if you have not yet acted independently as the lead expert.This is an opportunity for an experienced specialist to lead major domestic and international construction disputes, provide independent expert opinion and contribute to the continued growth of an established expert witness offering.The successful candidate will have significant experience in construction disputes, ideally having acted as the lead expert on previous assignments.The position combines technical leadership, expert witness responsibilities, client relationship management and business development.Key ResponsibilitiesLead major domestic and international construction disputes as a Quantum, Delay or Technical Expert Witness.Provide independent expert opinion and analysis within your specialist discipline.Manage teams of analysts and technical specialists, defining the scope of investigations and delegating responsibilities.Review technical evidence, project documentation, claims and supporting analysis.Prepare and oversee the production of independent expert reports.Provide expert testimony in adjudication, arbitration and litigation proceedings, including cross-examination where required.Lead complex dispute resolution, risk advisory and technical consulting assignments.Develop and maintain relationships with clients, solicitors, barristers and other legal professionals.Identify business development opportunities and secure new instructions.Collaborate with other expert witnesses and technical specialists on multidisciplinary disputes.Support the continued growth and development of the expert witness team.Essential RequirementsSignificant experience within Quantum, Delay or Technical Expert Witness services.Previous experience acting as a lead expert on major construction disputes, ideally including testimony and cross-examination.Proven ability to lead and manage teams on complex expert witness assignments.Excellent expert report-writing skills.Strong understanding of expert witness duties under CPR Part 35.Experience of adjudication, arbitration and litigation proceedings.Proven client relationship management and business development experience.Ability to generate new instructions and demonstrate previous success in winning work.Excellent communication, analytical and client-facing skills.QualificationsRelevant professional qualifications and memberships appropriate to the candidate's specialist discipline.Degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying, construction, engineering, planning or a related field.A qualification in law or construction law (MSc, LLM or LLB) is desirable, or willingness to undertake further study.BenefitsBonus opportunity up to 30% 25-30 days AL DOEFlexi workingPension MatchHealthcareDentalLife assurance
