- Reports To: Manager- Connector DesignRole and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Design and development of Electrical Connectors for Automotive applications.
- Interact directly with customers / Sales and Marketing team to identify key Product Technicalrequirements / deliverables and establish product specifications to fulfill customer requirements inhandling new concepts / quotations.
- Accountable for complex new product design and development products starting from conceptsgeneration, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, prototyping & testing.
- Create 3D CAD designs & 2D drawings in PTC Creo for Connectors
- Responsible for creating test specifications, deciding test methods, DVP Preparations & testing and validation.
- Perform product costing & Value Engineering (VA/VE) analysis.
- Prepare, monitor, update & maintain all engineering documentation in line with IATF 16949
- Problem solving and resolution of chronic issues in sustaining parts
- Suggest improvements in manufacturing and quality to increase customer satisfactionBehavioural Competencies

- 6 to 8 years hands on experience in Electrical connectors Design and Development for automotive
- Good Experience in Product validation and testing (DV / PV) of automotive products
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes - Injection moulding, stamping, Manufacturing andassembly etc.
- Good experience in APQP & PPAP activities, IATF 16949 / TS 16949
- Hands on experience in DFMEA / DFA / DFM / FEA etc.,
- Working knowledge on GD&T & Tolerance Stack up analysis.
- Strong 3D CAD design and 2D drafting skills in PTC CREO
- Good knowledge of PDM, Windchill, SAP and similar process/platform tools
- Knowledge of material selection (Engineering plastics, Sheet-metal etc.) and protective finishes
- Knowledge of Engineering data & Change management
- Ability to liaison with the customer, suppliers and toolmakers on technical matters
- Excellent verbal , written communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
