Financial Controller EMEA - (EU Experience)

The OpportunityWe're looking for a commercially minded and hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the European finance operations of one of our international clients in tourism sector.The business operates globally and is currently navigating an important period of restructuring and transformation. This is an opportunity for someone who can bring both strong technical accounting expertise and strategic thinking to help strengthen the finance function, improve processes, and support the business's next phase of growth.We're looking for more than someone who can manage the numbers. We need someone who can take ownership, challenge existing processes, provide sound financial guidance, and help drive the business forward.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of financial reporting, accounting operations and controls across the European business.Oversee month-end close, management accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis.Provide meaningful financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve financial efficiency.Oversee day-to-day finance activities, including AP, AR and payroll coordination.Support the business through its restructuring and transformation, helping build a more efficient and scalable finance function.Collaborate with international stakeholders across European and US operations.RequirementsQualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA) with 2 - 4 years of post-qualification experience.Strong technical accounting background with solid financial reporting and financial management experience.Commercially astute, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical financial guidance.Confident taking ownership of a finance function and working independently.Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Comfortable operating in a hands-on role while contributing at a strategic level.Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.Experience working with European businesses or across multiple European jurisdictions is a major advantage.Experience with QuickBooks is advantageous.Experience in a multi-entity or international business environment is beneficial.Ideal for a CA who enjoys being hands-on, thinks beyond the numbers, and wants the opportunity to influence real business decisions.
