Help us grow Bad Decisions by developing new content, getting more from the work we already create, and leading the process from idea to publishing.About Bad DecisionsBad Decisions is an independent media company focused on AI, technology, and business. We built our channels ourselves and have an audience of hundreds of thousands across YouTube and Instagram, with millions of views across our content. We built free and paid Unreal Engine education programs and have worked with major companies on creative and technology projects. Our ambition now is to build a leading AI media channel and education platform. We publish a long-form show every Tuesday and Friday. We also create technical experiments and demonstrations that help people understand and use new technology. Our creative and technical skills are a major part of what makes our work valuable. Why we are hiringWe have more potential in our content than we currently have time to develop. The founders still handle too much of the planning, packaging, clipping, and publishing. Our distribution beyond the main show is limited. We want someone who can recognize strong opportunities in our work, turn them into content for different platforms, bring ideas for different formats, and get a team to deliver. You will make creative decisions and do practical work yourself while helping us build the team. What you will own:Develop ideas and new formatsSuggest show segments, topics, standalone videos, social series, and other formats worth testing.Find opportunities in our experiments, conversations, technical work, and existing recordings.Ask focused questions that help us turn our knowledge into useful content.Explain why an idea could work, test it, and use the results to improve it.Turn existing content into stronger distributionFind the strongest ideas, stories, explanations, and moments in each show.Turn them into suitable short videos, posts, carousels, articles, or emails.Adapt the hook, structure, length, writing, and visuals for each platform.Help us choose where to focus our effort. We are an AI-first company. Our current show production uses established SOPs and AI-assisted workflows. We also have an in-house app for publishing across platforms. You will help build the contributor team. We do not currently have a full-time editor, and we are sourcing editing and design support alongside this role. There is an initial budget for short-form editing support, with further resources agreed around the plan and business needs.Use AI to research, explore, organize, and work faster. We expect your own judgment, clear thinking, and fact checking in the finished work. What you should bringPublished content you helped grow or improve, with a clear explanation of your personal contribution.Strong judgment for ideas, storytelling, hooks, writing, titles, thumbnails, and editing.Practical understanding of YouTube and Instagram, and the ability to adapt ideas for other relevant platforms.Experience leading editors, designers, or freelancers with clear briefs and useful feedback. The ability to create and test formats, alongside repurposing existing content.Enough production knowledge to judge the work and solve problems with contributors.Genuine curiosity about AI, technology, and creative tools. The ability to own a plan, deliver it, and learn when the results challenge your assumptions. You do not need a particular degree or a previous Head of Content title. We care about the work you have done, the decisions you made, and the evidence that you can deliver here. What success looks likeIn the first month, understand our audience and workflow, identify the biggest opportunities, and agree a clear plan with the founders. In the first 90 days, take ownership of routine content execution, establish consistent distribution, help bring editing support into the workflow, and test new formats.
