Role Description The Director at Book Club Mz is a full-time, on-site role based in the Valparaiso Metropolitan Area. This role oversees the strategic direction and daily operations of the community, including planning reading cycles, coordinating book selections, and ensuring a structured experience of reading, discussion, and practical application for members. The Director manages member engagement, communication, and events, fostering a welcoming environment that encourages sharing ideas, perspectives, and learnings. Responsibilities include supervising staff or volunteers, developing partnerships, managing budgets and subscriptions, and monitoring performance metrics to support sustainable growth. The Director also represents Book Club Mz in local networks, promotes the club’s mission, and continuously improves the experience based on member feedback and emerging topics.QualificationsLeadership and management skills, including experience overseeing programs, coordinating teams, and guiding strategic initiatives.Strong communication and facilitation abilities, with experience leading group discussions, workshops, or community events.Organizational and operational skills, including planning cycles, managing schedules, and handling budgets or subscription models.Background or demonstrated interest in reading, personal development, professional growth, or related educational activities.Ability to build and sustain community engagement, nurture inclusive spaces, and respond constructively to member feedback.Proficiency with basic digital tools for communication, member management, and event coordination.Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the local community are an advantage.
