IT Manager - Western Sydney - 165-175K + Super Our client is a Australian business with a household name and its own production and warehousing operation. They've grown to the point where IT needs a proper leader to take ownership of modernizing and automating their technology. The opportunityYou'll own IT end to end: strategy, delivery, vendors and a small internal team. You'll report to the CFO so you'll have direct access to decision makers and no layers in the way.It's hands-on IT Manager, who will be acting as the escalation point as well as setting the roadmap for the business. What you'll be doingLeading and developing a small team across infrastructure, software and supportBringing infrastructure and network management in-house and reducing reliance on external providersBuilding an IT roadmap and getting a sizeable project backlog movingImproving a complex legacy environmentSupporting key business initiatives through technology automationManaging specialist vendors on a needs basis and knowing when to call them inDocumenting systems and knowledge so the business isn't reliant on individualsWhat you'll bringHands-on infrastructure depth: Windows Server, VMware, firewalls, switching, wireless and endpoint managementExperience leading IT in a lean SME or mid-market environmentExperience managing, transitioning or procuring MSPs and vendorsCommercial thinking: you bring solutions with a cost and a benefit attachedGood judgement under pressure, and the ability to tell a real business problem from noiseA practical, outcome-focused attitudeBonus pointsManufacturing, warehousing or distribution backgroundExperience integrating inventory, sales and finance systemsWhy this roleA brand-new position with a clear mandate and executive backingBroad scope across infrastructure, applications, data, vendors and peopleA leader who will invest in your development
