Medea Biopharma GmbH is a growing company providing bacteriophage-based antibacterial solutions for the pharmaceutical and food industries. From our site in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, we develop and supply phage products that enable our customers to control bacterial contamination and antimicrobial resistance without conventional antibiotics or chemical biocides.We are currently scaling our production to serve a growing global base of industrial customers. To develop and lead our laboratory and facility, we are seeking an experienced scientist who combines scientific excellence with operational leadership and a clear commitment to customers and delivery.Your responsibilitiesScientific, operational and personnel leadership of our laboratory and its technical teamEnd-to-end responsibility for customer projects – from technical scoping and planning through execution to on-time delivery in accordance with agreed specificationsResponsibility for the planning, execution and continuous improvement of our production operationsResponsibility for quality control and product release, including the associated documentationTechnical point of contact for customers and partners; preparation of technical reports, specifications and certificates of analysisDevelopment and characterisation of new phage products for customer and market requirementsEnsuring documentation and working practices meet pharmaceutical quality standards, in cooperation with our quality and regulatory functionsContribution to the scale-up of production and to the further development of the laboratory organisationYour profilePhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology or a related disciplineSound knowledge of microbiology, biotechnology, genomics and proteomicsPractical experience in microbial bioprocessing and analytical quality controlExperience with laboratory automation and with documentation in a GMP, GLP or comparable quality environmentSeveral years of hands-on laboratory experience and proven experience in leading technical staffCustomer orientation: clear communication with scientific and commercial stakeholders, realistic planning and reliable adherence to timelines and budgetsBusiness-fluent German and EnglishDesirable: experience with bacteriophages, or work experience in a pharmaceutical, food or contract-manufacturing industryWhat we offerPermanent full-time position with substantial responsibility in a company in a phase of growthAn international, interdisciplinary team with short decision-making pathsCompensation above the standard pay scaleStructured onboarding and long-term professional developmentA work environment that values scientific quality as well as a sustainable work-life balancePlease send your application including CV to ruediger.trojok@medea-bio.com.
