Lead Quant Developer - Global Leading Hedge Fund (Dubai, UAE)The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Quant Developer to join a highly regarded buy-side firm in Dubai (already holding a strong regional presence), offering the chance to work at the forefront of quantitative finance within a high-caliber technical environment.The team is looking for an experienced Python-based (quant) developer with a strong background in financial markets, who can combine hands-on engineering expertise with the commercial awareness and technical judgement needed to deliver meaningful impact.This is an opportunity for someone looking to step beyond individual development tasks, take ownership of complex technical challenges and play a key role in how technology is used to support investment performance.The RoleYou will work across a range of technology initiatives supporting investment and trading activities, with the freedom to identify problems, challenge existing approaches and develop solutions from the ground up.The position offers a blend of hands-on development, technical decision-making and collaboration with experienced professionals across quantitative finance.Your focus will include:Designing and developing sophisticated Python applications within a demanding financial environment.Solving complex engineering challenges where reliability, efficiency and code quality are critical.Taking ownership of projects from initial requirements through to implementation and ongoing improvement.Working closely with investment professionals to understand business needs and deliver practical technical solutions.Identifying opportunities to improve existing systems, development processes and engineering capabilities.Providing technical guidance and helping establish best practices across the development team.What We're Looking For6+ years of relevant experience in quantitative development or closely related financial technology roles.A multi-/cross-asset background at a top-tier investment bank or established hedge fund is essential.Strong Python programming skills and excellent software engineering fundamentals.A solid understanding of financial markets and the technology supporting investment or trading activities.MUST hold masters degree &/or PhD from top global university in Compute Science, Computing, Mathematics, or similar STEM equivalents.A track record of delivering high-quality software in demanding, performance-focused environments.Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Location & Relocation📍 Dubai, UAE - relocation support may be available for exceptional candidates only.
