For an internationally operating retail organisation in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Manager Finance Operations to lead the global finance operations and drive the next phase of digital transformation.The organisation operates across multiple international markets and is focused on building scalable, efficient and future-proof financial processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to challenge existing ways of working, implement new technologies and lead a finance team that plays a key role in the company's continued growth.What will you do?As Manager Finance Operations, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations while driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and people.Your key responsibilities will include:Leading Finance Operations: Manage and develop the accounting and finance operations team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely month-end closings across international operations.Overseeing AP & AR: Take responsibility for the end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payments, customer billing, collections and outstanding balances.Managing cash flow operations: Oversee the processing and reconciliation of financial transactions, working closely with international teams to resolve discrepancies.Optimising financial systems: Act as the internal business owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and the organisation's invoice automation platform, ensuring systems continue to meet evolving business needs.Driving process automation: Identify manual processes and translate them into more efficient workflows. Focus on reducing errors, shortening processing times and increasing automation.Implementing AI solutions: Develop a roadmap for AI adoption within Finance Operations, exploring opportunities such as automated reconciliations, anomaly detection and AI-supported month-end closings.Developing your team: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, encouraging professional development and establishing clear responsibilities and career paths.Advising senior management: Provide insights into operational performance, process efficiency and potential improvements, supporting strategic decision-making at management level.What do you bring?You are an analytical and proactive finance professional who looks beyond the numbers. You understand the fundamentals of accounting and financial operations, but you are equally interested in how technology can improve the way finance teams work.In addition, you bring:A bachelor's in Finance, Accounting or a related field.At least 8 years of experience in accounting and international finance operations.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Experience with Medius or a comparable AP automation platform is a strong advantage.A proven track record in process improvement and automation.Experience working at the intersection of finance and technology, collaborating with IT teams and implementation partners.Experience with AI or machine learning applications in finance is a significant plus.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and hold a team accountable.A hands-on mindset, combining strategic thinking with attention to detail.Fluency in English.
