Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Odoo Migration & Customisation Consultant to lead an end-to-end enterprise Odoo upgrade from Version 17 to Version 20. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, Odoo ORM, custom module development, and database migration, along with functional knowledge of Finance, Sales, CRM, Procurement, Projects, Timesheets, and HR modules.Experience : 5+ years
Location: DubaiContract Duration : 6 MonthsKey ResponsibilitiesLead the complete Odoo 17 to Odoo 20 upgrade and database migration.Review existing custom modules and identify opportunities to retain, refactor, or replace customizations with standard Odoo functionalities.Migrate and customize Python-based modules, business logic, QWeb templates, and OWL components.Perform database migration, schema transformation, testing, and data validation using PostgreSQL.Configure and optimize Odoo modules, including Finance, Accounting, Sales, CRM, Procurement, Inventory, Projects, Timesheets, and HR.Implement UAE VAT reporting, FTA compliance, and mandatory E-Invoicing requirements.Support KSA invoicing compliance and ZATCA integration where applicable.Configure multi-company, multi-branch, and multi-currency environments.Develop management dashboards, reports, and operational workflows.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements.Conduct UAT, knowledge transfer, and end-user training.Provide technical troubleshooting, production cutover support, and post-go-live hypercare.Mandatory Technical SkillsStrong experience in Odoo migration, customization, and version upgrades.Hands-on experience with Odoo 17 to Odoo 20 migration or complex multi-version Odoo upgrades.Advanced Python programming and PostgreSQL database expertise.Strong knowledge of Odoo ORM, model inheritance, computed fields, recordsets, SQL views, and cron jobs.Experience in custom module development, refactoring, and database migration scripting.Working knowledge of JavaScript ES6+, OWL, QWeb, XML, and Odoo web client architecture.Functional expertise in Finance, Accounting, Sales, CRM, Procurement, Projects, Timesheets, and HR.Experience with PostgreSQL query optimization, indexing, and SQL performance tuning.Strong understanding of API integrations, REST APIs, and JSON endpoints.Experience in UAT, system integration, and post-production support.Preferred SkillsPrior experience supporting UAE/GCC business operations.Knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, FTA reporting, and E-Invoicing.Experience with Peppol-compatible electronic invoicing.Familiarity with KSA ZATCA integration.Experience in multi-company, multi-branch, and multi-currency architecture.Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and platform automation.Background in consulting, professional services, or enterprise commercial environments.Key DeliverablesComplete Odoo 17 to Odoo 20 migration.Customization audit and codebase modernization.Successful database migration with financial data validation.UAE VAT and E-Invoicing compliance configuration.Functional validation and stakeholder sign-off.Production deployment and post-go-live stabilization.
