Purchase Officer

About the RoleJeet MEP Electromechanical Works LLC, part of SEE Engineering, is seeking a Purchase Officer to support the procurement needs of our MEP and Fit Out divisions. Due to upcoming projects and an anticipated increase in procurement activity, the Purchase Officer will coordinate material procurement, obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, process purchase orders, and ensure the timely availability of materials and equipment required for project execution. The role will be shared equally between MEP and Fit Out projects.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for MEP and Fit Out projects in line with project requirements and schedules.Review material requests and specifications with project, technical, and site teams.Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and prepare comparison statements for approval.Evaluate suppliers on price, quality, delivery, and payment terms, and negotiate to achieve cost efficiency.Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company procurement procedures and approval limits.Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery schedules, and documentation to avoid procurement delays.Coordinate with stores, site teams, and logistics to ensure materials are delivered in line with project schedules.Ensure purchased materials match approved submittals, specifications, and quantities.Resolve supplier issues, including discrepancies, damages, returns, and delays.Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and develop relationships with reliable vendors.Coordinate with the Accounts team on supplier invoices, payments, and documentation.Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular procurement status reports.Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and IMS procedures.Required Skills and AbilitiesGood knowledge of MEP and interior fit-out materials, equipment, and products.Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.Ability to read material specifications and understand submittal requirements.Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP or procurement systems.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams.Ability to manage multiple purchase requests and priorities under tight deadlines.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 3 to 5 years of procurement experience in the UAE construction, MEP, or fit-out industry.Established network of UAE suppliers for MEP and fit-out materials.Preferred QualificationsProfessional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS).Experience working for an MEP or fit-out contractor.Valid UAE driving licence.Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily office-based, with occasional visits to project sites, suppliers, and stores. A professional corporate image and appropriate dress code are expected during client and supplier dealings.
