Quality Manager (BESS Project)

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the QA/QC team representing the Project Company and Owner’s Engineer throughout the BESS project lifecycle.Review, approve, and monitor the EPC Contractor’s Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and quality documentation.Ensure quality compliance across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.Oversee quality inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for battery systems, BMS, PCS, EMS, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.Monitor site inspections, installation quality, Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and integrated BESS performance testing.Develop and implement quality audit schedules, surveillance plans, supplier inspections, and third-party audits.Manage non-conformances, defects, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.Monitor quality KPIs and prepare periodic quality performance reports.Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards, BESS standards, Saudi regulatory requirements, and project specifications.Promote quality awareness, continuous improvement, and lessons learned across all project stakeholders.Key RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 10 years of experience in quality management, including at least 5 years in BESS, power generation, renewable energy, or related power infrastructure projects.Strong EPC experience, preferably with utility-scale IPP projects.Proven experience in QA/QC management, supplier inspections, FATs, site inspections, testing, and commissioning.Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and quality audits.Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant BESS standards, such as IEC 62933, IEC 62619, and applicable NFPA/UL standards.Familiarity with applicable Saudi Arabian regulatory and utility requirements.Strong leadership, analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.A proactive, systematic, and detail-oriented approach to quality management.
