Resident Medical Officer – Obstetrics & Gynecology (Alt Nights)

Role Description The Resident Medical Officer – Obstetrics & Gynecology (Alt Nights) will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients in the obstetrics and gynecology department during alternate night shifts. This includes assessing and managing obstetric and gynecologic cases, conducting rounds, monitoring inpatients, and responding to emergencies such as labor, delivery, and post-operative complications. The role involves assisting in surgeries and procedures, coordinating care with consultants and other physicians, documenting clinical findings, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and patient safety standards. The Resident Medical Officer will also support junior staff and participate in ongoing clinical training and quality improvement activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Saifee Hospital in Karachi.QualificationsStrong foundation in Medicine, with clinical training and experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology.Demonstrated skills in Patient Care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in inpatient and emergency settings.Experience in Surgery and obstetric/gynecologic procedures, including assisting in the operating theater and managing post-surgical care.Ability to work effectively with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordinated and timely care.Experience in Training or mentoring junior medical staff or students is beneficial.Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and valid registration with the relevant medical council.Prior experience as a Resident Medical Officer or in a similar hospital-based role, preferably in Obstetrics & Gynecology.Strong communication skills, ability to work night shifts on an alternate night schedule, and commitment to patient-centered, ethical practice.
