Job DescriptionSenior Mechanical Design EngineerCardiff | £50,000 | Permanent, full-time | On-siteVargo is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer. This is a hands-on design and product-development role, reporting to the Engineering Manager - not a people-management or strategic leadership position.The roleDevelop mechanical designs for new products and customer-specific engineering solutions.Produce and develop designs, engineering calculations, specifications and technical drawings.Take concepts through feasibility, prototyping, testing and product validation.Investigate technical problems and improve existing products and designs.Work closely with manufacturing, quality and other engineering colleagues to deliver practical, robust solutions.Maintain clear technical documentation and support engineering change control.About YouYou will bring strong mechanical design and product-development experience, with the technical depth to take ownership of detailed engineering work. Experience in an engineering manufacturing environment and a practical understanding of how designs are built, tested and improved will be particularly relevant.A mechanical engineering, product-design or related qualification is useful.
