Senior Procurement Officer - AI & Process Automation

We are looking for a highly experienced and technology-driven Senior Procurement Officer to join our real estate development team. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who understands traditional procurement operations and can leverage AI, automation tools, and digital workflows to streamline and automate procurement processes.The successful candidate will manage procurement activities, coordinate with suppliers and vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure the timely procurement of materials and services. In addition, they will identify manual, repetitive, and inefficient processes within the procurement department and implement practical automation solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and cost control.Candidates with experience in real estate development, construction, contracting, or engineering projects will be strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Vendor ManagementManage end-to-end procurement activities, from identifying requirements and sourcing suppliers to purchase orders, delivery coordination, and invoice verificationSource, evaluate, negotiate with, and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and service providersObtain and compare quotations, prepare bid comparisons, and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, lead time, reliability, and contractual termsNegotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions to achieve cost savingsCoordinate with project, engineering, finance, and site teams to understand procurement requirements and ensure timely availability of materials and servicesManage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier documentation, delivery tracking, and invoice coordinationMaintain an updated supplier database, procurement records, contracts, and pricing informationMonitor supplier performance, resolve procurement-related issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and approval proceduresSupport procurement planning, budget control, cost analysis, and reportingWhere applicable, manage procurement of construction materials, building supplies, MEP materials, equipment, subcontracted services, and other project-related requirementsAI, Automation & Process ImprovementReview existing procurement workflows and identify opportunities to automate manual and repetitive tasksDesign and implement AI-powered and rule-based workflows for procurement operationsAutomate processes such as purchase requisitions, quotation collection and comparison, purchase order preparation, supplier onboarding, document processing, approval workflows, and procurement reportingImplement automated extraction and processing of information from quotations, invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and other supplier documentsUse AI tools to assist with supplier research, quotation analysis, document summarisation, procurement reporting, and data organisationDevelop automated tracking systems for purchase requests, order status, delivery timelines, pending approvals, contract expiry dates, and supplier follow-upsIntegrate procurement workflows with existing ERP systems, spreadsheets, databases, and other business tools wherever feasibleEstablish automated alerts, dashboards, and reports to improve visibility into procurement costs, supplier performance, order status, and potential delaysIdentify opportunities to reduce processing time, manual data entry, errors, and unnecessary administrative workWork with relevant stakeholders to implement, test, document, and continuously improve automation solutionsEnsure appropriate human review, data accuracy, confidentiality, and approval controls for AI-assisted procurement decisionsRequirementsMinimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably in real estate development, construction, contracting, or engineeringStrong practical knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes and supplier/vendor managementDemonstrated experience implementing AI tools, workflow automation, or digital process improvements in procurement or related business operationsAbility to identify manual processes and independently develop practical solutions to automate themHands-on familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Power Automate, Make, Zapier, n8n, or equivalent toolsExperience with Excel automation, structured data processing, document extraction, reporting, and workflow integrationStrong understanding of quotation comparison, purchase orders, supplier negotiations, procurement documentation, delivery tracking, and cost controlExperience working with ERP, procurement management, accounting, or inventory systems is an advantageStrong analytical, organisational, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across departmentsA practical, improvement-oriented mindset with the ability to turn automation ideas into working solutionsPrevious procurement experience with a real estate developer, construction company, or main contractorFamiliarity with construction materials, MEP procurement, subcontractor sourcing, and project-based purchasingExperience automating purchase-to-pay workflows, supplier documentation, invoice processing, or approval systemsAbility to demonstrate previous automation projects, measurable efficiency improvements, or workflow examplesWe are looking for someone who can do more than manage purchasing activities -
