Tailor my CV for this job — freeRole OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer – Manual Testing & Application Monitoring to ensure the functional quality, technical stability, and reliability of our digital eCommerce platforms. This role combines hands-on manual testing, API and integration testing, application observability, and production incident investigation. The successful candidate will validate complex transactional customer journeys, troubleshoot technical defects, monitor application health, and work closely with engineering teams and external development vendors to resolve customer-impacting issues. The ideal candidate goes beyond executing predefined test cases. They can independently investigate application errors, interpret technical evidence, identify root causes or contributing factors, and communicate findings clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.Experience with Sentry is an advantage. Candidates with strong hands-on experience using equivalent application performance monitoring (APM) or observability platforms are equally encouraged to apply.Key Responsibilities1. Functional and Manual TestingDesign, develop, and execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test cases.Validate complex web-based customer journeys, including registration, quotation, checkout, payment, and post-purchase transactions.Perform cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and mobile web testing.Review business requirements, UX designs, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps and ensure adequate test coverage.Document, prioritize, and track defects, supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), release validation, and production readiness.2. Application Monitoring and Production ObservabilityOperate application monitoring and observability tools to investigate production issues across frontend, backend, API, and infrastructure layers.Monitor application exceptions, failed transactions, API availability, latency, slow page loads, user-impacting errors, and performance regressions.Investigate incidents by correlating exception stack traces, application logs, browser console and network evidence, distributed traces, session replays, release changes, and service health indicators.Analyze incident severity, recurrence, frequency, and impact on customer journeys and business operations.Maintain and improve monitoring dashboards, alert configurations, thresholds, incident classifications, and escalation procedures.Validate monitoring coverage, monitor release health, and confirm that production fixes resolve the reported issues.3. API and Integration TestingTest REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools, validating request and response payloads, authentication, status codes, and error handling.Investigate HTTP errors, timeouts, unexpected responses, and integration failures.Validate integrations between eCommerce platforms, payment gateways, core systems, and third-party services.Use browser developer tools and relevant diagnostic evidence to investigate client-server communication issues.4. Technical Troubleshooting and Incident ManagementAct as a technical quality contact between business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external development vendors.Reproduce production incidents and provide clear, evidence-based defect reports with steps to reproduce, logs, screenshots, network traces, and other relevant technical details.Investigate recurring defects, identify likely root causes or contributing factors, and verify corrective actions.Prioritize incidents according to customer impact, business criticality, and technical severity.Support effective incident escalation and resolution in collaboration with engineering and application support teams.5. Reporting and Continuous ImprovementMaintain QA execution reports, defect registers, incident investigation reports, and application stability reports.Track test coverage, critical production defects, failed transactions, incident recurrence, detection and resolution times, and release quality.Recommend improvements to test processes, observability coverage, alerting, incident handling, and release validation.Produce clear technical findings and concise summaries for business and engineering stakeholders.RequirementsMandatory Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. At least 6+ years of software QA experience, with strong hands-on manual testing of web applicationsProven experience testing complex transactional web applications, ideally involving eCommerce, checkout, payments, or similar customer-facing workflows.Practical API testing experience using Postman, Swagger, or equivalent tools.Strong understanding of HTTP, JSON, REST APIs, status codes, and client-server architecture.Proficiency in browser developer tools, particularly Console and Network, for investigating JavaScript errors, failed requests, and API issues.Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent defect and test management tools.Ability to investigate technical defects, document reproducible evidence, and collaborate effectively with developers and external vendors.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings and business impact clearly.Highly PreferredHands-on production experience with at least one application observability or APM platform, such as Sentry, Datadog APM/RUM, New Relic, Dynatrace, Elastic Observability, Grafana, Cisco AppDynamics, Azure Application Insights, or AWS CloudWatch.Demonstrated personal involvement in investigating production incidents affecting application functionality, performance, API availability, or customer transactions.Experience interpreting application logs, metrics, traces, exception stack traces, API latency, and release health indicators.Experience in eCommerce, fintech, banking, insurance, or other transaction-intensive digital environments.Additional AdvantagesDirect experience configuring Sentry alerts, dashboards, issue tracking, or instrumentation.Basic JavaScript or TypeScript and SQL knowledge.Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Agile delivery, GA4, or behavioral analytics tools.ISTQB certification.Expected DeliverablesFunctional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test cases with execution reports.A well-maintained defect register containing reproducible steps and technical evidence.Application monitoring dashboards, alert configurations, and application stability reports.Production incident investigation reports and API/integration testing results.Release readiness assessments, post-deployment validation, and quality improvement recommendations.Important: This is a technical QA role, not a position limited to executing predefined manual test cases.
