Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the roleOur client, a fast-growing technology group in Dubai, is hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead test automation across its digital platforms.You will design, build and run automated testing frameworks for both front-end (Web/UI) and back-end (API/database) systems. You will own functional and non-functional testing, and make sure the platforms are reliable, scalable and high quality.This is a hands-on senior role. You will drive the automation strategy, mentor junior QA engineers, and work closely with development, product and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.Key responsibilitiesTest automation and quality assuranceLead the design, development and maintenance of robust automation frameworks for Web/UI and API/back-end testing.Build, optimise and run automated regression and functional test suites across platforms and environments.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality checks.Carry out performance, load and scalability testing on critical systems.Validate database integrity and back-end processes using advanced SQL queries and automation scripts.Track and improve test coverage metrics, keeping them aligned with business and technical requirements.Use AI-assisted testing tools to improve coverage, efficiency and defect detection.Decide when manual or automated testing is the most effective approach, and deliver both to a high standard.Collaboration and leadershipWork with developers, architects, product managers and DevOps to define test strategies and raise quality.Mentor and coach junior QA engineers on automation best practice and frameworks.Act as the senior link between QA and senior management, reporting clearly on test progress, risks and quality status.Take part in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and contribute to release planning.Continuous improvementChampion test automation and innovation across the QA team.Research, evaluate and introduce new testing tools, frameworks and methods.Drive process improvements that shorten testing cycles and speed up software delivery.RequirementsQualifications and experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.10+ years in QA and test automation, covering both front-end (Web/UI) and back-end (API/database) testing.Proven track record of designing, implementing and scaling automation frameworks.Strong experience in Agile/Scrum teams with CI/CD integration.Previous leadership or mentoring experience within a QA team.Technical skillsAutomation tools: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, Postman, JMeter.Programming: strong skills in Java, Python, JavaScript or similar.Database: strong SQL for database testing and automation.CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar.Cloud: AWS, Azure or GCP for test execution (a plus).Methodology: solid understanding of testing methods, QA metrics and the bug lifecycle.PreferredExperience with blockchain, crypto or fintech platforms.Hands-on use of AI-assisted testing tools.What's on offerCompetitive, tax-free salary (to be confirmed with the client).A senior role shaping the QA and automation strategy of a growing tech group.The chance to work on modern platforms, including fintech and blockchain products.A collaborative Agile team based in Dubai.
