Position - Technical Manager (AVLX)Duration - 7-Dec-26 till 1-Jan-27Location - Ras Al KhaimahJob OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Technical Manager – AVLX to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of audiovisual, lighting, and technical infrastructure for major sports events. The role involves managing technical teams, overseeing suppliers and contractors, coordinating with event stakeholders, and ensuring all technical installations and live operations meet project specifications, safety standards, and deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, coordination, installation, testing, and operation of AV, lighting, LED screens, cabling, and related event infrastructure.Develop technical plans, equipment requirements, installation schedules, and resource allocation in line with event specifications.Manage technical supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.Coordinate with event production, venue operations, broadcast, overlay, and other technical teams.Oversee technical drawings, layouts, equipment specifications, and installation plans.Monitor project progress, budgets, equipment procurement, and supplier deliverables.Ensure all technical systems are tested, commissioned, and ready before rehearsals and live event operations.Lead technical rehearsals, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement solutions to minimise operational disruptions.Ensure compliance with venue regulations, health and safety requirements, and technical standards.Manage technical operations during live events and coordinate rapid resolution of equipment or system failures.Oversee equipment inventory, technical documentation, risk assessments, and project progress reports.Lead the safe and timely dismantling of technical installations following event completion.Requirements5+ years of experience in technical management, AV, lighting, or live event production.Proven experience delivering technical infrastructure for sports events, stadiums, arenas, or large-scale live events.Strong knowledge of audiovisual systems, LED displays, lighting, cabling, signal distribution, and event technology.Demonstrated experience managing technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and multiple workstreams.Ability to interpret technical drawings, venue layouts, equipment specifications, and production plans.Strong project management, budgeting, planning, and problem-solving skills.Experience managing technical installations, rehearsals, live operations, and dismantling.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines, including evenings, weekends, and extended event hours.
