We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant, Accountant, or something in-between, to join our team. Qualified by experience, Part Qualified, Fully Qualified, Not Qualified but equally amazing – we look at the person, not the title.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the fast pace of practice life and thrives on accuracy, communication and above all, providing an outstanding client service that is second to none.As our new team member, you must be confident in preparing financial statements independently from client records — whether that’s manual records, Excel, or cloud/software platforms (Sage, FreeAgent, KashFlow, Xero, QuickBooks). You will be able to present a complete accounts file to a high standard for review, including Corporation Tax computations (training provided if required) and drafting Self-Assessment Tax Returns (not essential).Communication with clients is key and therefore you need to be comfortable liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and assist them.Our firm has a wide and varied portfolio of clients comprising of Ltd companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders in the SME sector. As a small but dynamic practice, you will also gain exposure to other areas — giving you a well-rounded experience and clear progression opportunities to senior roles.We have all areas covered by dedicated team members; Owner & Overall Lead, Tax Manager, Payroll Manager, Accountants, Accounts Assistants, Bookkeeper/VAT administrator, Company Secretary, Compliance Officer - meaning that you can concentrate on performing your role as Accountant/Assistant Accountant in the knowledge that you have support across the board. Likewise, you will bring your own knowledge and experience to the team.What We are Looking For - the non negotiables.Recent experience in an accountancy practice is a prerequisite. If you do not have this then please keep your application for a more suitable job.Ability to independently prepare financial statements for review. Preparing from any type of source documents.Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage 50 & SBC, Xero, FreeAgent).
