Organize, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations of the accounting department (Category C books).Verify and ensure the accuracy of accounting entries, financial records, and job costing for freight forwarding files and shipping agency operations.Monitor and ensure full compliance with Greek tax regulations, VAT exemptions applicable to international transport, and the myDATA electronic ledger platform.Manage and reconcile international transactions, multi-currency bank accounts, and financial statements with overseas agents, clients, and suppliers.Prepare financial reporting, cash flow statements, and budget forecasts to support management decision-making.Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, port authorities, and customs officials.
Requirements
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; a relevant Master’s degree or professional qualification is a plus.Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role (Accounting Manager or Assistant Accounting Manager), ideally within the Freight Forwarding, Shipping, or Marine Logistics industries.Deep knowledge of Greek Accounting Standards (ELP), corporate tax law, and international shipping tax regulations (including VAT treatment for cross-border transport).Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with dedicated Freight Forwarding/Shipping software will be highly valued) and advanced MS Excel skills.Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential, as the role involves continuous communication with our global network.Strong leadership, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
