BI Engineer

BI Engineer | DubaiTMC Middle East is recruiting a hands-on BI Engineer for a real estate business in Dubai. You will design, build and maintain reliable BI solutions supporting development, leasing, sales, marketing and customer experience. Working within the Analytics function and reporting to the Principal Data Scientist, you will contribute production-ready solutions within the architecture and standards set by the Principal Data Scientist and Senior/Lead BI Engineer.Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ingestion and transformation workflows that deliver clean, reliable datasets for reporting and downstream analysis.
• Build dimensional data models, curated analytical layers, Power BI semantic models, reusable DAX measures and consistent business definitions.
• Create accurate, intuitive and performant dashboards and self-service reports for operational and commercial teams.
• Implement data validation, tests, exception handling and reconciliation controls; investigate discrepancies and resolve defects at source where possible.
• Improve query performance, scheduled refresh reliability, report usability, access controls and maintainability; support production releases and incident resolution.
• Work with business users to translate requirements into clear KPIs and actionable BI products, documenting assumptions and definitions.
• Partner with Data Scientists, DevOps, the Senior/Lead BI Engineer and central IT on secure integrations, dependable deployments and shared analytical assets.
• Use AI-native/agentic coding tools for SQL, transformation logic, DAX, testing and documentation, while verifying correctness, lineage, security and business meaning.Required qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production BI solutions, data transformations, semantic models and dashboards.
• Strong SQL, Power BI, DAX, dimensional data modelling and data preparation skills, with a solid understanding of analytics engineering principles.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric or a similar data platform, including pipelines, lakehouses/warehouses, semantic layers and scheduled refresh processes.
• Ability to implement data validation, troubleshoot discrepancies, optimise queries and create maintainable, reusable reporting assets.
• Familiarity with Git, deployment practices, Microsoft Azure integrations and collaboration with platform and central IT teams.
• Advanced practical use of AI-native/agentic coding tools such as Cursor or Claude CLI, with the discipline to test and verify generated SQL, DAX and transformation code.
• Strong ownership, curiosity and communication skills.Real estate experience is an advantage. Independently built dashboards, data tools and other technical projects are valued.
