Closing the books for several entities is only part of this seat. The same accounting decisions connect tax, cross-border payments, cash flow, and new-company processes; the CFO needs someone who can keep those threads consistent without stepping away from the detail.1. About the roleYou will own accounting integrity across multiple entities while supporting the CFO with timely reporting, controls, and the financial implications of investment-office decisions. This is a hands-on accounting leadership role spanning domestic and overseas entities, not a purely advisory or sign-off position.2. What you'll ownThe close and accounting operations. Oversee invoicing, reconciliations, records, and period-end closing across the office and member companies. Keep documentation and internal controls usable across entities.Payments and governance. Review domestic and international payments within delegated authority, making sure approval, support, and recording hold together.Reporting and tax. Review statutory, management, financial and tax reports for accuracy and timeliness; oversee tax planning, filings and obligations across applicable jurisdictions. Coordinate with tax authorities, regulators and auditors on accounting and compliance risks.Treasury visibility. Monitor operating costs, funding, liquidity and cash flow, including overseas entities. Work with banks and external financial-service providers when funding or payments cross organizational boundaries.Transactions and new entities. Advise management on accounting, tax and financial implications of investments, restructuring, divestments and new initiatives. Establish accounting and payment processes for newly formed entities.People and partners. Lead and develop the accounting function, improve its working processes, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisers, and contribute to strategic finance projects or other assignments from the CEO.3. What we're looking forMust-haveA bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance, plus the Chief Accountant Certificate required under Vietnamese regulations. At least 7 years of relevant experience, currently serving as a Chief Accountant, with hands-on experience in a company operating multiple entities.Experience in Big 4 audit or tax. Candidates currently working in a corporate structure comparable to a multi-entity investment holding may also be considered without Big 4 experience.Working English for accounting discussions involving overseas entities and international projects; the role description specifies at least an intermediate level.Nice-to-haveACCA or CPA qualification; in-house work in an FDI company or multi-entity group, especially consolidation, accounting operations and tax compliance.Exposure to cross-border transactions, overseas entities, M&A or restructuring.Ideal candidate profile: A hands-on candidate, ideally born in the early 1990s, with experience working in a company with multiple entities. The team has one accountant who reports to the CFO, and the company has around 10 employees in total. The candidate should be comfortable working within a family-owned group.Company culture: It’s a close-knit, friendly family business. The company values strong communication skills, professionalism, and a good educational background—especially experience studying abroad.English: Upper-intermediate or above, as the role involves working on multiple projects with international companies.4. Why this moveFor a Chief Accountant who wants the next role to widen the kind of accounting decisions they handle, the appeal is the mix of group controls, tax, cash flow, and new-entity setup alongside the CFO. The same mix also makes this less suitable for someone seeking a narrowly defined single-company close or a remote-first role.5. Why Work HereThe investment-office setting brings conventional financial businesses and technology-backed ventures into the wider picture. The attraction for an accounting leader is the chance to see how reporting, controls, and funding questions connect across different business lines—without assuming that this role sits inside, or controls, every portfolio company. The work also involves international projects and direct collaboration with the CFO and CEO on specific finance matters.Monthly base salary: 40-50M Career path to a more senior position.A Monday-to-Friday office scheduleAdditional personal insurance coverage for family members is included; covered dependents and policy terms follow the plan.Other benefits (discuss details during the interview)6. Interview processFirst round: Meet HR and the CFO at the office.Final round: Meet the CEO. A role-related test may be used, and reference checks may be requested at the offer stage.Questions worth askingWhich legal entities and overseas operations would the Chief Accountant directly oversee, and which have separate accounting owners? How are group reporting and consolidation currently handled, and what process needs the most attention? What is the delegation of authority for payments and statutory sign-off across entities? How do the CFO and accounting team divide work on investments, restructuring, and new-company setup?7. About the companyMy client is a Vietnam-based family investment office. Its published approach emphasizes long-term company building through venture and private-equity investments. The wider portfolio spans conventional financial services and technology-backed ventures, with consumer and food-service interests as well. These are business lines in the broader ecosystem, not a statement that every team works on every venture.Based in Ho Chi Minh City for this opening, the office needs accounting that can connect reporting and controls across multiple entities to investment-related decisions. The precise employing entity and the set of businesses supported by this position are useful points to discuss in the first conversation.
