About the OpportunityWe are supporting a well-established international technology group operating within the iGaming industry in its search for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and oversee its Corporate IT operations in Malta.This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished technology leader to take ownership of the local IT function, ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable and efficient technology services across the business.The position combines strategic oversight, operational leadership and infrastructure management, covering corporate technology, networks, connectivity, hosting and data-centre services, IT security, business continuity and vendor relationships.Working closely with Group Corporate IT and other technology teams, you will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, driving continuous improvement and ensuring that local technology operations remain aligned with the wider organisation's standards and business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Leadership & OperationsLead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Corporate IT function in Malta, ensuring efficient and reliable technology services across the business.Act as the senior local point of contact for IT matters, collaborating with Group Corporate IT, senior management and other business functions.Establish and maintain effective IT processes, operational procedures and service delivery standards.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality and technology performance.Oversee the management, resolution and escalation of significant IT incidents and operational challenges.Infrastructure & Technology ManagementOversee the organisation's local IT infrastructure, networks, connectivity, workstations, endpoints and corporate technology systems.Ensure effective maintenance, monitoring, configuration and lifecycle management of IT assets and infrastructure.Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, technology migrations, system improvements and other IT initiatives.Oversee hosting, data-centre and connectivity requirements in collaboration with internal teams and external service providers.Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity and performance to ensure technology services continue to meet business requirements.Security, Governance & Business ContinuityEnsure appropriate IT security controls are maintained, including access management, endpoint protection, backups and operational security.Oversee local IT governance, documentation, compliance and adherence to established corporate policies.Identify and manage operational technology risks, implementing appropriate controls and improvements.Ensure critical infrastructure and technology services are supported by effective business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on IT audits, compliance requirements and security-related initiatives.Vendor & Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with technology vendors, infrastructure providers and external service partners.Oversee service delivery, contractual commitments, operational performance and service-level agreements.Work closely with international technology teams to ensure alignment between local requirements and group-wide standards.Provide guidance and support to senior stakeholders on technology operations, infrastructure requirements and operational improvements.What We're Looking For3+ years of experience in a senior technology leadership or management position within IT, technology, software engineering or related technical businesses.Proven experience leading Corporate IT operations, infrastructure or technology service delivery within a complex business environment.Strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, connectivity, endpoints, hosting and data-centre environments.Experience managing technology vendors, external service providers, contracts and SLAs.Good knowledge of IT security, access management, backup solutions, business continuity and operational risk management.Strong understanding of IT governance, compliance, documentation and audit requirements.Experience coordinating infrastructure projects, technology upgrades and operational improvements.Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management, international teams, technical stakeholders and external partners.Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.Additional Experience That Would Be ValuablePrevious experience within a multinational organisation or international group structure.Exposure to data-centre operations, colocation, cloud infrastructure, hosting and connectivity providers.A technical background in software engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure or platform operations.Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, cloud/infrastructure certifications or project management qualifications.An attractive remuneration package is being offered for this role.
