Position OverviewA manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations, manage the month-end close, and prepare financial statements. This role works closely with the CFO in a lean accounting environment and requires strong general ledger, manufacturing accounting, and Excel skills.ResponsibilitiesOwn and execute the month-end close processPrepare monthly financial statements and internal financial reportsPerform journal entries, general ledger activities, and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport manufacturing cost accounting and analyze production cost variancesExtract financial and operational data from the ERP system and prepare reports using ExcelSupport budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure accountingCoordinate with external auditors and assist with tax preparation and complianceOversee sales and use tax complianceReview accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve financial processesPartner with the CFO and other departments to provide financial analysis and reportingSupport multi-location and multi-division transactionsSupervise and support accounting team members, including accounts receivable and accounts payableQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related fieldStrong manufacturing or corporate accounting experienceExtensive hands-on experience with month-end close, financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliationsStrong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accountingAdvanced Excel skills and experience preparing financial reports outside an ERP systemExperience with JD Edwards E1 preferred; other ERP systems consideredAbility to work independently in a lean accounting environmentPrior Controller experience and team supervision experienceCPA, CMA, or MBA preferredBenefits3 weeks of paid vacation100% employer-paid health insuranceDental and vision insurance, partially employer-paidShort-term disability coverage401(k) with company match up to 4%Full-time, direct-hire opportunity
