Database Engineer

SKAI Worldwide is a data and AI infrastructure company with 13 years of database technology behind it. Our database team builds and maintains PostgreSQL based database engines used by open-source users and enterprise customers.What you'll work onNew query language features in the engineWorking across the database engine (parser, planner, executor and storage)Correctness and reliability: write paths, security features, backup and restore, regression testingKeeping the engine current with PostgreSQL upstream releasesDrivers, integrations and deployment tooling around the engineWhat we're looking forBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldStrong C, and you're comfortable working in a large, mature codebaseSolid understanding of, or a strong interest in, database internals: query processing, indexes, transactions and concurrency controlCurious about how things work under the hood, and you enjoy chasing down hard bugsYou're not afraid to dive into unfamiliar code, papers or problems, and you learn as you goNice to haveExperience using graph databases or graph query languages (e.g., OpenCypher, ISO GQL)Systems programming experience (databases, compilers, OS)Open-source work you can point us to
