Fleet PMV and Logistics Director

Fleet Management & Operations Director – Middle EastCooper Fitch is supporting a confidential client in the Middle East with the appointment of a Fleet Management & Operations Director.This is a senior transformation mandate for an experienced leader who can take ownership of a large, asset-intensive fleet and professionalise the function across structure, systems, maintenance, lifecycle management, cost and operational performance.The role will oversee a mixed fleet of 1,000+ assets, including heavy construction and earthmoving equipment, trucks, tankers, specialist vehicles, trailers and site machinery.We are particularly interested in candidates who have operated within construction, infrastructure, EPC, oil & gas, utilities, mining, industrial services, heavy equipment or other asset-intensive environments across the Middle East.Key responsibilities will include:Lead and transform the fleet, plant and equipment functionEstablish the operating model, structure, governance, SOPs and KPIsImprove fleet availability, reliability and utilisationMove maintenance from reactive to planned, preventive and condition-basedReview and optimise outsourced, in-house or hybrid workshop modelsOwn asset lifecycle, replacement strategy, CAPEX planning and technical specificationsDrive fleet standardisation, total cost of ownership and unit cost reductionImplement fleet management systems, CMMS/FMMS, telematics and data-driven reportingLead large teams of drivers, operators, technicians and supervisorsManage supplier, dealer and maintenance contractor performanceStrengthen HSE, compliance, asset controls and operational disciplineThe successful candidate should bring:15+ years of relevant experience in fleet, plant, heavy equipment or asset managementSignificant leadership experience at Head / Director / Department Head levelStrong exposure to heavy construction equipment and mixed asset fleetsProven experience building, restructuring or transforming a fleet or equipment functionDemonstrable improvements in uptime, reliability, utilisation or operating costStrong maintenance and reliability backgroundExperience across CAPEX, lifecycle planning, asset replacement and TCOExposure to fleet technology, telematics, CMMS/FMMS and ERP integrationExperience leading large operational and blue-collar workforcesMiddle East experience strongly preferredThis is not a conventional transport or light-vehicle fleet role.
