CMK Resources is seeking a Senior Fortinet Resident Engineer / SME to support a large enterprise client's Fortinet networking environment.The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on expertise in Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, including advanced engineering, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. This individual will serve as a dedicated technical resource, working directly with client stakeholders to maintain and improve network performance, reliability, and stability.

Location: Multiple Location Options – Dallas/Plano, TX | Houston, TX | Chicago, IL | New York, NY | Jersey City, NJ | Columbus, OH | Wilmington, DEWork Arrangement: Onsite 4–5 days per weekDuration: 12+ month W2 contract with strong potential for extension year over yearResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level engineering support for enterprise Fortinet SD-WAN infrastructure.Configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain Fortinet networking solutions.Diagnose and resolve complex SD-WAN, routing, connectivity, and performance issues.Review existing configurations and recommend improvements to network stability and performance.Support Fortinet platform upgrades, configuration changes, and technical escalations.Collaborate directly with client networking and infrastructure teams.Serve as a hands-on Fortinet subject matter expert in an enterprise environment.QualificationsExtensive hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate and Secure SD-WAN in enterprise environments.Strong understanding of SD-WAN architecture, routing, traffic steering, and performance optimization.Advanced troubleshooting experience with Fortinet networking technologies.Experience with networking protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and IPsec VPNs.Ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues and provide technical guidance.Minimum Fortinet NSE 4 certification, with willingness to obtain NSE 7 or higher upon start.Ability to work onsite 4–5 days per week at one of the designated locations.Must be a US Citizen or Green Card/Permanent Resident holder.Nice to HavesFortinet NSE 7 certification or higher.Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.Previous experience serving as a dedicated Fortinet Resident Engineer.Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or highly regulated networking environments.Experience designing and deploying Fortinet SD-WAN environments from the ground up.Experience with Fortinet automation, centralized management, and network performance monitoring.
