It starts with hosted in-person experiences and grows into an app that keeps those connections going.We are at day one: a clear thesis, committed backing and no team yet. You would join as founding CEO and build the company from here.The roleYou will lead the company from an idea to a scaled business: prove the model in Mumbai, build the team, launch the app and take it to new cities. You report to the founder and own strategy, the P&L and results.For the first six months you will be hands-on — in the room at early events and with the first members — while you build the team that will run them.What you'll do· Set strategy and the business model: membership pricing, experience formats, city roll-out and unit economics.· Own the P&L: manage the budget, with monthly reporting to the founder.· Prove the model in Mumbai: first experiences, first members and repeat attendance, against clear targets.· Build and lead the team: the Community & Events Lead, hosts, marketing, and product and tech partners.· Own the app: product vision, choice of build partners, launch and adoption.· Drive growth: brand, partnerships, marketing and member referrals.· Set the standard for trust and safety: member verification, conduct, safeguarding and data privacy.· Build partnerships: with venues, brands, employers and community organisations.· Prepare for investment: get the business ready for outside funding when the time comes.· Be the public face of the brand: with press and partners.What you'll bring· Experience: a minimum of 8–10 years, including P&L or general-management responsibility in a consumer business.· A track record of building from an early stage: a startup, a new city launch or a new business line.· Team building: experience hiring and leading teams from scratch.· Commercial grasp: consumer marketing, community-led growth and unit economics.· Product experience: taking a digital product from idea to launch with product and tech teams.· High empathy and people judgement: you care about the member experience as much as the numbers.· Location: based in Mumbai and willing to travel as we expand.Nice to have· Founder or early-team experience at a consumer startup.· A background in hospitality, experiences, membership, social, wellness or matchmaking businesses.· Experience with community platforms or two-sided marketplaces.· Fundraising experience.· A network across Mumbai clubs, community organisations and media.What we offer· A company to build: lead it from day one, with committed backing.· Meaningful work: success is measured in friendships made, not clicks.· Real ownership: including equity for the right candidate.How to applySend your CV via LinkedIn message, along with a short note (under 300 words) about a business or community you built from scratch: what you started with, what you grew it to, and what you would do differently.
